Congratulations to Juniors Gauge Schlake, Trevin Skropka, and Landon Sveda for qualifying for the IHSA 1A State Track Meet. Gauge placed 1st in the Long Jump with a jump of 6.22 Meters and 1st in the 110M High Hurdles with a time of 16.24. Trevin placed 1st in the Triple Jump with a jump of 12.48 Meters. Landon placed 2nd in the 110M High Hurdles with a time of 16.80 and placed 3rd in the 300M Hurdles with a qualifying time of 42.58. The boys will compete at Eastern Illinois University on Thursday May 29.
Good Luck to the ZRC Tornadoes as they open up postseason play in a semi-final matchup with the Chester Yellowjackets. The regional is being held at Sparta High School and the game will start at 4:30 PM.

Good Luck to the ZRC Lady Tornadoes as they will take on the Pinckneyville Lady Panthers in the IHSA 2A Pinckneyville Regional Semifinal at 4:30 PM. The game will be played at Greg Hale Field at the Perry Co. Fairgrounds in Pinckneyville.

CHS students have semester exams on Thursday, May 22, and Friday, May 23. Students who have earned exam exemptions are not required to be in attendance on the exam days, but can still choose to take exams to help improve their overall grade. Buses will run at 2:00 on Thursday and Friday.
The ZRC Softball Team opens up postseason play today as they have been assigned to the IHSA 2A Pinckneyville Regional. The Lady Tornadoes will host the Du Quoin Lady Indians in a Quarterfinal Game at Home at 4:30 PM.

The CHS Graduation Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2025 will be held tomorrow, Saturday May 17, 2025 at 1:00 PM. With an increased chance of inclement weather in the forecast, the 2025 graduation commencement ceremony will be held in the CHS Gymnasium.
