Mrs. Jones, alongside some of her students, was awarded a $1,000 classroom grant from the SouthEastern Illinois Electric Cooperative. The grant will be used to purchase a Hydroponic Growing Tower to support hands-on STEM learning in the 5th and 6th grade science classrooms. Thank you SEIEC for supporting our students' learning!
The JH Volleyball Team will travel to Z-R to take on the Lady Tornadoes in a non-conference game tonight. The C Game will begin at 5:00 PM with the 7th Grade Game at 5:30 PM. The 8th Grade Game will follow.

Congratulations to 7th grader Sophia Saul for placing 3rd in the Quad County Spelling Bee held in Marion last night. Sophia earned a spot in the Regional Spelling Bee, which will be held at Rend Lake College on March 12. We are so proud of Sophia for her hard work and dedication in studying hundreds of words to prepare for each round and we wish her the best of luck at the Regional Bee.
CES would like to congratulate Charley Yosanovich for earning a spot on the Coal Belt Conference All-Conference Team! Way to go, Charley!

Congratulations to Sophia Saul and Derek Lowe-Crusan for making it to the Franklin/Williamson County Spelling Bee in Marion yesterday. Derek and Sophia competed against 19 other spellers in a match that went a record breaking 43 rounds. Sophia earned third place and will advance to the next round on Tuesday, February 10. Great job to both of them and good luck to Sophia in round 2!
