National School Social Work Week, a time to recognize the important role school social workers play in supporting our students, families, and staff. School social workers help create a safe and supportive environment where students can learn, grow, and overcome challenges. We would like to take this opportunity to recognize and thank our dedicated school social workers, Leanna Bennett and Shelby Rodgers. Through their compassion, guidance, and commitment, they help students navigate difficulties, build confidence, and find the support they need to succeed both in and out of the classroom. Their work often happens quietly behind the scenes, but the impact they make in the lives of our students and families is truly meaningful. We are grateful for their dedication and proud to recognize them during National School Social Week. Thank you, Leanna and Shelby, for the care, support, and encouragement you provide to our school community every day. We are so lucky to have you both!🧡💙

CUSD99 will return to school tomorrow, Friday, January 30th. While the winter weather kept us home, our custodians have been working to clear parking lots, treat walkways, and ensure our buildings are warm and ready for students.
Please take into consideration our parking lots are on the mend, but not perfect. Take your time getting your student to and from school, we will be flexible with your arrival times!
Reminders for Tomorrow:
-Dress Warmly: Please ensure students are bundled up for bus stops and outdoor transitions.
-Patience: Bus routes may run slightly slower than usual as drivers navigate remaining slush or narrowed streets. We will attempt to run our routes as normal, but some streets still look to be impassable in a bus.
-Check for Updates: For any specific extracurricular updates or schedule adjustments. As of now, all extra-curricular activities are on as scheduled.
Thank you for your patience and support this week, we can’t wait to see everyone back in class!

There will be a Public Hearing regarding the proposed implementation of E-Learning Days as an alternative to traditional snow days or emergency closures within our district.
The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) regulations allow districts to utilize E-Learning Days to ensure instructional time is not lost due to unforeseen school closures (such as severe weather, power outages, etc.). This hearing is your opportunity to learn about the proposed plan, understand how it will affect student learning and school operations, and provide your feedback.
The Christopher Unit School District Board of Education will be voting to pass the E-Learning Days Plan at the regular scheduled board meeting following the hearing, at 5:30 P.M. in the CHS Library on December 18th.

Last night, we proudly dedicated the CES gym as the Richard E. Towers Gymnasium — a well-deserved honor for a leader whose vision and commitment made the new gymnasium possible.
Mr. Towers, our recently retired superintendent, worked tirelessly to bring the gym to life, ensuring our students, athletes, and community had a place to grow, compete, and come together. His dedication to our school district has left a lasting legacy, and last night we celebrated that impact in the best way possible.
What a special moment for our community, our Bearcats, and for Mr. Towers and his family. Congratulations Mr. Towers! Once a Bearcat always a Bearcat!🧡💙
