 Working With Words Block

Words for the week: because, where, out, said, *best.  The star indicates the rhyming word for the week.  The children should be able to spell *best and all the rhyming words! They will work on these words for the next two weeks.  The test will be on the 20th of January. 

Guided Reading Block

Story of the week:  Your child will be bringing home their books every Monday and Tuesday evening.  Please encourage your child to read the story aloud.  We will be reading,  Ruby in Her Own Time.

  Guided Writing Block

Writing will be much more independent now.  the students will start writng in their notebooks after being given a prompt.  Many time students will have free choice writing.

Self - Selected Reading Block

The children are doing great!  I have enjoyed listening to them read.  Some children may also begin bringing home books to share with you as well.

Monday - No School

Tuesday - Lesson 6 - Numbers 60 - 89

Wednesday - Lesson 7 - Numbers 90 - 100/ Check your Progress Lessons 1-7

Thursday - Lesson 8 - Estimate Quanitities

Friday -  Place Value of Digits

Planners 

Planners are a very important part of the students responsibility.  Please make sure they are bringing their planners each and everyday.  They are also  a great tool of communication.
